Simply install the browser extension and enable it by clicking on its icon in your extensions bar. Hovering over any text on a web page will now display the name of the font used. Clicking on the text will provide additional details such as the font family, style, weight, size, line height, hex color, and even a sample of the font.
One drawback of WhatFont is that it occasionally has issues loading. To check the font on a page, you need to click the extension icon to enable it. If an "Exit WhatFont" button shows up, you know it's working. However, if it doesn't, you may need to reload the page. At times, you may need to do this multiple times. Additionally, the tool does not work offline unless you attempt to edit its code.
All in all, WhatFont is a helpful browser utility for anyone who needs to identify fonts on the text they see. It provides important details that stick to the page for easy access until you close the pop-up window. Just keep in mind that you may need to constantly reload pages and enable the extension icon for it to work when you need it.
